Seasonal Soil Analyst Idyllic Resources Join a leading soil classification team in Southern Alberta for the 2024 season. Position runs May through August, with potential fall work extending to November.
Role Overview: Engage in comprehensive field soil classification tasks, including operation of core sampling truck to collect soil samples across designated fields. Process and analyze soil sample results to develop irrigated land classification reports for the client.
Primary Responsibilities:
Soil sample collection, assessment, and examination
Analyze and interpret sample results
Generate detailed reports, maps, and other publications
Operate core sampling truck (half-ton).
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
Qualifications: Applicants should be adept in soil profiling and sampling techniques. Preferred credentials include:
Certified Crop Advisor
Articling Agrologist
Professional Agrologist
Certified Professional Soil Scientist
Associate Professional Soil Scientist
(candidates actively pursuing a diploma or degree in soil science are encouraged to apply)
Requirements:
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Post-secondary diploma, degree, current enrollment or sufficient work experience
<=30 years of age (grant requirements)
Canadian Citizen
English speaking
